Kytäjä Golf is improving the golf experience through destination charging

Kytäjä Golf is in Hyvinkää, in the village of Kytäjä, about 40 minutes north of Helsinki. It is a busy spot during weekends, and since visitors in EV’s are coming from surrounding areas, the opportunity to charge while playing a round of golf, has been highly appreciated. EV owners expect to charge their car where they park, if it is at work, at a hotel as well as at the golf course, improving the total experience.

The charging facility was installed during spring 2024, and we ask Jukka Koivu, CEO of Kytäjä Golf why did they decide to establish a charging facility at the golf destination:

“We received a lot of feedback and requests from visitors of not having charging available as above average percent of our guests are EV drivers.”

So, then the Golf club started the process of establishing a charging facility. We are curious of the process, and how they did go about to find the best solution. Jukka Koivu explains: “We conducted thorough research and assessed multiple EV charging providers.”

What is the reason you decided to choose DEFA Power?

“Key factor was payment solution, and we consider EasyPark to be the best option. We wanted a turnkey solution, so we don’t have to take part in the operative side of things. And the overall cost of the solution was good for us. Kytäjä Golf’s cooperation with DEFA was ultimately a very natural step, because both brands represent the top of their fields.”

The facility has been up and running for some months, and the facility has chosen a payment solution operated by EasyPark. “Everything has been working well. The charging stations are in heavy use.”
