DEFA Power – smart charging and integrations
How is your DEFA Power communication with OCPP 2.0.1
DEFA Power comes with the latest version of the Open Charge Point Protocol, OCPP 2.0.1. It is possible to connect the DEFA Power to any Charge Station Management System (CSMS) with a documented implementation of OCPP 2.0.1. The approved CSMS’ are available in the list of operators in the DEFA Power Setup app.
How is your DEFA Power V2G/V2H ready with ISO15118
With the ISO15118-20 standard implemented in both vehicles and charging boxes, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capabilities will become a reality. This standard enables our charging solutions to not just charge your EV but also allows your vehicle to support your home or even give back energy to the grid, showcasing true innovation in energy management.
Our charging box is prepared for ISO15118, meaning it is capable of handling bidirectional power flow. This feature allows for innovative and efficient energy management, both for charging your vehicle and potentially supporting your home’s energy needs.
However, to fully utilize this technology, it’s essential that the whole ecosystem is ready for handling the requirements of the ISO15118 protocol. This involves both vehicle manufacturers, grid operators and suppliers of energy management equipment and services. More and more vehicle models now support ISO15118. Increasingly, equipment in your meter cabinets/electrical panels is also compatible with these standards. Thus far, only a few network companies have released detailed information about their setup for network owners. We are following this development closely.
